SECONDARY SCHOOL

Students are admitted to Statesman Secondary College only after successfully writing our entrance examination. This examination is administered two months before the beginning of the academic year. Prospective candidates into Junior Secondary Year I (J S I) are required to download and complete an online application form before they are qualified to take the examination. Admissions are strictly offered based on merit.

General Information

All students are admitted into JSI only. The school may not accept students wishing to transfer into higher classes from another school. However, students wishing to transfer from another school should visit the administrative office of our school for further information. Parents are advised to make sure that all students who hope to enter into Statesman College know how to wash their own clothes and keep the rules of the school.

Requirements for prospective candidates

Those who wish to enter JS I next academic year should not be more than the required age. A student may be withdrawn if later discovered that his/her age was falsified for the purpose of gaining admission into our school.

NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL

Available classes for admission

The school has a Day Care class, a Pre-Nursery class, Nursery 1 – 3 and Primary 1 – 6 classes.

Conditions for Admission

  • For Day Care class, the child must be above six months in age.
  • For Pre-Nursery class, the child must be above a year and six months in age.
  • For Nursery and Primary classes, the child must provide the last termly result from his/her former school.
  • For Nursery 1 to Primary 6 classes, the child must undergo an entrance examination.
  • For such a child to be admitted, he/she must get at least 50% pass mark of the examination written.
  • In a case where there is a variance in the age specification for any particular class, the parents must discuss with the Director of the school.
  • For any admission into Primary 6 class, the parents must discuss with the Director of the school before any entrance examination is conducted.
  • The child must be mentally and physically fit.

Requirements for admission

Four (4) recent passport photographs with Statesman School uniform. Testimonials from the former school (and the last term result if necessary). A letter of undertaking on “Good conducts of the child and agreement to abide by the school’s rules and regulations” from the Parents/Guardian. A medical report/letter if the child has an illness that does not allow for corporal punishment or manual labour. A birth certificate, baptismal card or court declaration of age and other relevant documents.

ADMISSION RESULT (for both schools)

Entrance examination result will be published online and will also be available in our schools’ administrative office a week after the entrance examination date. Psychological test for successful candidates will also be conducted before a student can be fully admitted into the school.
