INTRODUCTION: The first term of 2019/2020 Academic session began on 9th September, 2019 and came to an end on 13th December, 2019. We shall reopen for the second term of 2019/2020 Academic session on 13th January, 2020. All the students are advised to resume their studies that day for lessons shall start at 8:00am. Absentees MUST pay fines for the first two weeks of resumption. However, our offices will be opened from 6th January, 2020 for parents/guardians who would want to have official activities with the school.
APPRECIATION: We sincerely thank you our dear parents/guardians for giving us the opportunity to educate your children/wards, and as well, for your constant support and patronage. We urge you not to relent in this laudable task of child training for God will surely reward you.
PROGRESS REPORTS: During the term, there were great improvements in the areas of academics, social programmes, sports and skills among our students. Our students showed greater willingness and participation in our social programmes. The school organized an Orientation programme for our new students on 2nd October, 2019. This was done in order to get them acquainted with the rules and regulations of the school so as to facilitate a holistic learning and training. We also had our staff and students’ Interaction Day on 7th November, 2019 where our students freely expressed their likes and dislikes for the Statesman Schools; possible solutions to the problems mentioned were proffered and are already being considered for timely implementation. There was also the P.T.A. meeting on 12th November, 2019. This meeting recorded a high attendance and wonderful contributions from members towards the growth and development of the children and the school.
OUR REGRETS & CHALLENGES: At the first term, we noticed a high level of late payment of school fees, lateness to school, lack of textbooks/learning materials and improper dressing. Our students should be in school on or before 7:30am daily as no student will be allowed into the school after 8:00am. Parents/guardians should try to provide books and other necessary learning materials for their children/wards. They should as well ensure that their children/wards are always cute in neat school uniforms by replacing the uniforms that are old, torn, tight and worn out. Parents/guardians are advised to be closer to their children so as to show greater interest in them. They should always check their books, clothing and even the type of friends they keep. This will enable them to discover possible changes in the character of their children on time and then be able to address them properly.

The Total fee is ₦21,000. In addition, the JSS3 students must pay the sum of ₦13,000 for their Basic Certificate Examination on or before 13th January 2020 or will not be allowed into the school. The School Account detail is: The Statesman College, Abakaliki. Bank: UBA Account No: 1016628303. We hereby thank our parents/guardians who pay the school fees before the resumption day, and urge others who don’t, to do the same so as to help the school execute more developmental projects and attend to the needs of the school for the development of the students.
